NED’s 60th Birthday Bash

Suzie and Mark will join Ned and a few of his musical mates to celebrate Ned’s 60th Birthday. Ned and Mark have known each other for over 40 years and both appeared on Channel 9’s Adelaide version of Hey Hey its Saturday during the summer of 1973 with Dean Davis in their band called The Inpack.

Ned and Mark went on to form rock bands later in the 70’s called Borg and Montana. This should be a fun night of music and celebrations

THE GOV – Saturday Sessions

The MOSS Band returns to the GOV

Named after the first governor of South Australia, The Gov has seen a lot of changes over the past 162 years.
Since 1993, when the Tonkin family took over, The Gov has established itself as Adelaide’s leading live music venue and is highly regarded by musicians and music-lovers alike.
Between the regular local bands playing in the front bar and the world-class musicians featured in the Venue, The Gov really is Adelaide’s home of live, original music.

The Gov’s Front Bar and Saloon Bar provide a friendly environment for activities like the Adelaide Ukulele Appreciation Society meetings on Tuesdays, Open Mic Sessions on Wednesdays, Irish Jam Sessions on Fridays and live local bands on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The warm décor, polished wooden surfaces and fireplaces throughout make it a comfortable and welcoming place to be, especially in winter. In the Venue, pictures of famous musicians adorn the walls and the dimmed lighting booths around the room emphasises the intimate space, creating the perfect environment in which to see a favourite band.

Best Entertainment Venue in Australia

At the 2009 and 2012 Australian Hotels Association’s national Awards for Excellence, The Gov was awarded the title of ‘Best Entertainment Venue in Australia’. The Gov has also won the AHA Award for Excellence as the ‘Best Entertainment Venue in South Australia’ for the last six years, a streak which started in 2007. We were also inducted into the SA AHA Hall of Fame in 2011 as the ‘Best Entertainment Venue’.

Regarded amongst musicians as the key home of live music in Adelaide, The Gov benefits from the continued support of many artists who come back year after year, at times to play multiple nights in one visit.

The Gravity Festival

MOSS Band 2nd April – Gravity Festival at Macclesfield

There have been reports of strange, unexplainable things occurring around Macclesfield recently.

Newly erected shelves falling down, washing falling from clothes lines, bathroom scales refusing to show weight loss. On Saturday night a person even stepped from a local pub and mysteriously fell to the floor!

Some rumours say that Macclesfield has more gravity than anywhere else in on Earth! Others say the gravity at Macclesfield is a smoother and more refined variety than the ordinary stuff found elsewhere!

They may sound crazy, but could these theories be true? Is there really something different about the gravity in Macclesfield? The time has come to test it out… with a gravity-powered go-kart race!
